This event is part of the European Maker Week, an initiative promoted by European Commission and implemented by Maker Faire Rome in collaboration with Startup Europe. It's a celebration of makers and innovators all over Europe.
The European Maker Movement is coming to Brussels! ThinkYoung in cooperation with the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies and the support of Google and Intel, are organising the first edition of Makerstown; an event bringing together Makers, business leaders and European policy-makers.
MakersTown will feature a Makers exhibition showcasing the top 50 Makers in Europe! They will demonstrate exciting, innovative inventions from robotics to 3D printers and wearable technology. In addition to this, there will also be numerous panels throughout the day that will discuss challenges and opportunities of the Makers Movement in Europe. In cooperation with the European Commission, the Makerstown event will be the kick-off event of the upcoming European Maker Week starting on May 30th.
Vice President of the European Commission Jyrki Katainen, as well as European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas have already confirmed their participation, with more speakers, including Members of the European Parliament, to be announced soon.
